Our colleagues at Univision21 in Fresno are awesome and are donating an old set to our studio, so I got to go meet them, see their studio set up and grab a peak in the control room.
The timing also meant I got to see a cutin being recorded in the studio. I'm sure they were wondering who the weird gal with the purple hair and tape measure was!
Like many smaller newsrooms, the director set up the camera and then went into the booth to do the segment.
Me being me, I asked if I could take a peek into the control room. Yay, buttons!
KGW had a much smaller version of that Sony switcher. The bigger one is prettier. :)
As I was there with a limited time slot and a job to do (measure twice, move heavy objects around multiple studios once!), I didn't get a huge number of pictures to share. Director Raúl Lima invited me back to shadow one evening, and I am looking forward to that opportunity!
Thank you to Raúl and Assistant News Director Vladimir Araya for showing me around and being so generous with the donation. I can't wait to get to work on our studio at Fresno State!
