Fresno State Focus

Fresno State Focus is the weekly 30-minute newscast I get to help put on the air. My official role at this point is to teach the news version of field production (how to report, shoot, and edit video gathered in the community, along with proper writing style and format and web posting/social media components) and the studio production crew to put on a clean newscast.

Here is a look at our control room. We have a director, a technical director, a graphics operator, and an audio operator on Crew, plus the producer, the News Director, the engineer, and me flying between the studio and the control room to make sure everything is on track. And to shade cameras when needed.

In the studio, we have up to four anchors, three camera operators, a floor director, and a prompter operator. Partridge in a pear tree is forthcoming!

I have ideas for some added studio performance positions. Stay tuned!
